Partners of Hacker Noon - July Edition
Hey Hacker Noon Sponsors & Partners,
Welcome to our first-ever Partners of Hacker Noon Newsletter, where we spotlight Good Companies and share tips to help you, our partners, achieve your unique marketing goals.
Our two biggest sponsors during the first half of 2020 were Heroku and Radix.
Both companies straddle multiple niches and came to Hacker Noon with distinct objectives.
This is a breakdown of how we helped them achieve their objectives
#1 WIIFM (What’s in it for me?)
Instead of yes-manning the customers in the interest of shortening the negotiation cycle, we took the time to understand their WIIFM to create poignant campaigns.
Heroku wanted to increase the reach of its podcast — code[ish] with programmers while Radix wanted to .tech domains a viable choice for technologists looking to build websites.
This knowledge was critical for us to better serve both companies.
#2 Campaign Designing Conundrums
Both Heroku and Radix needed more “visibility”, which made our Top Nav Billboard program a perfect starting point.
This sponsorship package helps both companies reach as many people as possible, widening their brand appeal and exposure.
200k Pageviews daily
700-1000 clicks daily
33% traffic from N. America, Europe, and Asia each
We custom-designed thematic newsletters to target segments of our audience. (Big Shoutout to our Software Development Editor Arthur Tkachenko who’s been championing this area of the business!)
#3 Stilting The Roots
Without making it a biology lesson, here’s a self-explanatory picture:
Similar to stilt roots that prop up plants that grow on unstable grounds (near ponds, rivers etc), advertising campaigns need supporting structures to help buttress the customers’ requirements.
To this effect, Hacker Noon offers Brand As Author stories, Social Media Support, and Noonifications. Heroku decided to create and publish original content for Hacker Noon readers while Radix decided to leverage Noonifications. Diverging from cookie-cutter daily newsletters, the Hacker Noon Noonifications are a work of art+code.
#4 Gotta Have Them Freebies
Going above and beyond is the Hacker Noon way and that was what we did.
Both Radix and Heroku were given additional ad slots to such an extent that Heroku alone reaped free airtime to the tune of almost 40% of the total deal size.
No customer has ever complained about over-delivery and we can go out on a limb and say that none are about to start doing that..ever.
That’s a wrap on how Hacker Noon does custom campaigns.
Next time, we’ll go over the kinds of Brand-As-Author articles that get read a lot by people instead of languishing somewhere unspeakable on the Internet.
P.S. Did you check out The Noonies? Sponsor an award that you care about.
That's all from me,
